NEXT RACE (Sunday April 13th): For the first race of the season we’re off to Rhymney Cricket Ground for a 5km run. Following the race there’s a BBQ at the property of Andrew Reynolds, the Club’s Senior Vice President.
As most of you know, the annual grape-picking is one of the club’s major fund-raisers. Without it, we would not be able to keep our costs to members down or offer the prize money and sponsorship of races that we do.
There is a difference this Sunday. Our hosts, Garry and Rhonda Rice, have set a FIRM time for the picking – Sunday from early morning to early afternoon, with a morning tea break provided. In the past, because of the need to pick the grapes at the optimum time, Garry could not always give us a definite picking day.
The sooner we start, say from around 7am, the sooner we finish but whatever time you can give us will be valuable.
Apologies for the short notice and the urgency, but this is the nature of the grape picking.
If you are able to join us, remember sunscreen, sunglasses and secateurs if you have a pair – otherwise they will be provided.
